Being a missionary is not a solo act. It's totally a team effort. Around every missionary is a strong team of encouragers, prayer partners, and financial supporters.

I'm not a financial wizard, but please meet my friend, Steve. Steve is the money man. Steve handles the cash for all the UM Missionaries in the world. It's a big job, but he's a capable man.

Here Steve is reviewing my sponsor sheet. Steve tells me that it takes a lot of cash to support a missionary in service. He reminds me that we have health insurance and travel expenses. (Steve told me that if I got married, I could probably get a tax break. The man is always looking out for my best interests -- now he's checking to see if there are any single female missionaries also looking for a tax break.)

Steve tells me that I need about 15 churches as sponsors. He says my Covenant Church sponsorships are a little on the low side right now.

Steve is a good guy. Wouldn't you like to make Steve happier? Put a big smile on his face by supporting me or another missionary with the GBGM. There are a lot of good ones who could use your assistance.

What does your church receive for becoming a Covenant Partner church?

• You receive my newsletter. If I'm good about it, I'll send you three a year.
• I'll visit your church. At least once every three years, I'll come and share about the area where I serve.
• Most important -- you promise to pray for me, and I promise to pray for you.
